Lake Nakuru National park is a sight to behold especially to visitors interested in birding safari. Lake Nakuru offers one of the world’s most spectacular wildlife sights; the lake is full of pink flamingos which are quite helpful not only in tourism but also in the surrounding ecosystem. In fair day the lake is visited by about a million to two lesser and greater flamingos, all feeding around the shallow shores of the soda lake.

Flamingos are the dominant birds on the lake however other bird species are also represented, reports have that the lake is visited by about 10,000 species of bird annually. The best place to behold these sights is the Baboon cliff, a good stand for excellent views and snapshots.
Some of other wildlife you bond to see in this national park is the warthogs, the water buck, Impala, some occasional instances may grace sights of the Rothschild giraffe, the eland, leopard and black and white rhinos. A herd of chubby hippos can be spotted on their territory in the northern part of the lake.

There are quite a range of good hotel accommodation around Nakuru town and the adjacent Lake. It is very important to note that conditions do change and in some instance the birds migrate to neighboring lakes such as Lake Naivasha. It’s always advisable to note the season should you be interested in experiencing a good Lake Nakuru safari.
