Masai Mara National Reserve
The Masai Mara national reserve is the epitome of any game safari in Kenya, the park premier any kind of game drives in Kenya. The park was established in 1961 to protect wildlife from poachers; this park is the main reason as to why many visitors come to Kenya. The park is located southwestern side of Kenya runs along to the border of Tanzania, the reserve is deeply placed in the Rift valley, Serengeti plains running along its southern end.
The Mara river drives peak on any game safari, the river is horde to the most sought after wildebeest migration. The annual migration of wildebeest from the Serengeti plains to the Mara happens during the months of July and again the months of October.
The vegetation in Masai Mara is made up of hilly grassland, which receives lots of rainfall especially during the months of June and late November. The Park is relatively small compared to other parks such as Rhodes Island or the Kruger yet it hosts an amazing concentration of wildlife.
The park guarantees sights of the big 5, this is the Lion, Buffalo, Elephant, Rhino, and Leopard. Other wildlife are Giraffes, Impala, warthog, buffalo, zebra, hippos and some vicious Nile crocodiles in the Mara River. The best time to view the animals is at dawn or dusk.
