KILIMANJARO
Choosing
the right route is probably the single most important decision that you
will make when planning your trek on Kilimanjaro.
The
Kilimanjaro park management plan has quite a complicated traffic strategy,
which aims to provide climbers with routes which are good for both acclimatization
and rescue. Climbers are
required to follow one of several established routes.
In
this section we discuss the relative merits of each route, taking into
account
the variety of factors which will determine which is your optimum choice.
We
strongly recommend that you read this section in full before making a
climb reservation.

• Gaiters: To keep mud, rocks, and snow out of your boots
